Writing

Jennifer Greenhorn is a Canadian writer and speaker based in Vancouver, BC. A graduate of The Writer’s Studio at Simon Fraser University, she also holds a Bachelor of Design in Communication Design and an MBA. Her writing explores inheritance, consequence, and connection—how personal histories shape who we become and what we pass on.

Her debut literary memoir, Mother May I?, traces the lives of the women who shaped her—from the ones who raised her to the one who raised her son. Set between Cape Breton, Port Hardy, and Vancouver, it examines how care and shame become inheritance, and how resilience takes root in their wake.

Jennifer has contributed to brand and thought-leadership writing for EY and other global organizations, bringing a human-centred approach to storytelling, systems, and inclusion. She has spoken on inclusive design and system transformation at SXSW, the Seattle Interactive Conference, and on open adoption with Choices Adoption (Victoria) and Family Services of Vancouver.

Her literary work includes Open Wombs, published in Emerge 25: The Writer’s Studio Anthology (Tidewater Press, 2025), and she has read from her work at the Vancouver Writers Fest. She is currently seeking literary representation for Mother May I? and developing Hux & Lumi, a humorous children’s book series about difference, friendship, and the chaos of growing up. Her next manuscript, Untitled, follows the men who shaped her life and examines how patriarchy impacts identity, love, and belonging.
